​JOHN O’BRIEN

VICE CHAIRMAN
John has had over 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, biochemical and life sciences sectors. He has held executive positions in sales and marketing, general management, and portfolio investment at the following industry leading, multi-national organizations, Amersham International (GE-Biosciences), ICI and AstraZeneca PLC (AZ). He is the founding investor in ARdVRK Technologies, an advanced augmented and virtual reality company specializing in healthcare.

John recently retired from AZ after 23 years of service. During his career at AZ, he had responsibility for numerous commercial functions As VP, Oncology US, he led the $1Bn business unit with products in breast, prostate and lung cancer. He has led groups in the US, UK and Sweden that were the commercial interface with the drug discovery and development organizations. He completed his career reporting to the CEO, establishing and running the Portfolio Investment Board, which provided governance over all material, R&D and licensing/acquisition investment decisions.

John also received an appointed by the Governor of Delaware as Vice Chair for the Delaware Science and Technology Council to assist the state in developing strategies to promote economic development. He received his B.S. in Biology from Seton Hall University
