Nigeria is a country of over 200M and there is no sustainable open-heart program in the country. This means if you cannot afford to fly out of the country for treatment, you will die. With over 60% of the country in poverty, Nigeirans suffer grave consequences for something that is completely treatable in developed countries. I am headed back to Nigeria, November 1-16, 2019 with VOOM Foundation for another open-heart medical mission. We will train and educate the local cardiac staff transferring skills as we work toward a sustainable open-heart program in Nigeria. I would love for you to consider helping me to deliver this work. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
