In 2013, I joined VOOM Foundation an international humanitarian organization to help restart the only open-heart surgery program in the entire country of Nigeria, 173M citizens at the time. I currently serve on the board of directors and as the medical director of missions. Since 2013, we have completed a total of 164 open heart procedures and currently lead the entire country in total number of cases. But we have much more work to do. There are 188M citizens in Nigeria and the majority of them cannot afford the basic cost of healthcare much less the cost of open-heart surgery.
Each year, we assemble volunteer medical teams from across the U.S. and travel to Enugu, Nigeria to deliver open-heart procedures for no or little cost. I would like to ask my friends and family to consider supporting my efforts with a gift in any amount. Below is more information on VOOM and what we do to support the world’s most vulnerable patients.
Thank you in advance for any support and for your interest in VOOM.
