Help me support open-heart surgery in Nigeria. As many of you may know, I have been on the board for VOOM Foundation since it’s inception. We restarted the open-heart program in Nigeria in 2013, as there was not one single healthcare facility in Nigeria that supported open-heart surgeries. This meant that if you didn’t have the funds to fly out of the country for surgery you were sentenced to death. This is tragic considering over 65% of the country is in poverty. We have been in the country since 2013 and have engaged with two hospital delivery partners and currently working on our third. VOOM leads all healthcare organization in Nigeria, a country of 202M, in open-heart procedures performed. We do this with a 100% volunteer medical staff and our focus remains to train and educate local teams with the goal of a sustainable open-heart program.
Thank you for your consideration and support!
